How To Measure Bra Size – Know Your Right Size

You’d be surprised at how many women have approached us with queries on how to choose a bra, or how to measure bra cup size.

4 in every 5 women aren’t wearing the right bra, and most often they don’t even know it!

So what’s the problem here?

Most women don’t know how to measure themselves for their right bra size, nor do they have a place where they can get comfortably measured. As a result, they end up wearing bras that they were never properly fitted for.

All you need is a measuring tape, a mirror, a bra size calculator

Step 1: Under-Bust Size (a) Band Size

  • The tape should be level and snug.
  • Round the number obtained, to the nearest whole number.
  • If the number is even, add 4 inches. If it’s odd, add 5.
  • The sum of this calculation is your band size

Example: 25.6 will round off to 26 Band size – 26 + 4 = 30

Using a soft tape, measure around the rib cage directly under the bust. The tape should be held tight, edge to edge with no space between it and your body

Step 2: Over-Bust Size (a) Cup size

Measure completely around the bust at the fullest point. Hold the tape tight against the back but not too tight in the front

  • Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust
  • Make sure it’s not too tight or too loose and without any falls or twists
  • Round off the number to the nearest whole number.
  • Now, subtract the band size calculated earlier from the bust measurement

Example: Bust = 37 inches, Band = 34 inches, 37 – 34 = 3 inches. That’s a 34C!

Step 3: Refer Size Chart

If the difference between band and bust measurement is
